Know the difference between plant respiration and photosynthesis
Often many confuse themselves with the two life processes taking place in plants; photosynthesis and respiration. This is because oxygen is released by the plants as a byproduct of photosynthesis, which is evident that photosynthesis is actually taking place. Respiration, on the other hand, is not as prominently visible in plants, unlike in animals. Hence, people are confused with the processes. Respiration takes place irrespective of photosynthesis occurring or not. There is a continuous exchange of gases through the stomatal pores where oxygen is taken in and carbon dioxide is released in a similar manner to that seen in animals.
