Acronyms and Mnemonics
The world today is extraordinarily competitive. With the increase in globalisation the demanding conditions and requirements to craft the future of the student has also increased. Throughout their careers, they have to work hard to succeed in each and every stage.
The schools are also trying hard to prepare the students to face all challenges. They are introducing many innovative educational systems to make students more globally competent.
They are introducing various languages in their curriculum to learn, incorporating global resources such as research papers to all subjects, encouraging students to learn more. All these in turn lead to the introduction of vast courses in the student’s curriculum.
This creates chaos among students and they are not able to concentrate on any of the subjects. It becomes very hard for them to memorise everything.
The AKSHARA app makes the learning easier for the students. It contains a feature which helps the student to memorise things faster and retain it for a longer period of time. This feature of AKSHARA app is acronyms and mnemonics.
Acronyms are words created using the initial letters of the phrase, sentence, or a list. They are pronounced as a single word. For example, AIDS – Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.
Mnemonics help in remembering certain facts by associating it with something that is more accessible and helps in better retention of the information. For example “My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nachos” is used to remember the name of the planets in order.
